ok so you can guess the problem! 1.2 merit so slow it almost stops! so what can i do to give it a little more acceleration? any ideas>? cheers

my 1.4 sport seems annoyling slow, can't bare to imagine a 1.2, god help ya & good luck.

just drive it as it is for a few years & save your pennies till you get your No claims built up, then sell it & get something better.

yeah i have a 1.2 8 valve and oh my god its so slow, its on 17's as well asn onec when on the motorway, going up hill, some lorries were going faster than me and i had my foot flat to the floor. lol
but insurance is really cheap. £900 fully comp in my own name and im 18 no no claims.
its not worth tyring to tune as u get so little gain for for the amount of money ui spend. better to do what gambit said and just save up the money for something better ina few years.

I know how you feel, i got a 1.0 12v on 17s...went for the looks rather then power, but now on the lookout for something a bit quicker i think...fingers crossed i can sort my loan out! :-S wish me luck! lol.

Yeh, the parts person told me they added 5bhp per badge and did me a special deal with some neon washer jets. Only joking, dont have washer jets! And i also dont have the 2.0 badge anymore as im selling the car, and in the window it says 1.0, so it was a bit ghey to have 1.0 on the advert and 2.0 on the rear....too confusing for people. haha.

i have a 1.0... added on a k&n induction kit and then the exahaust makes it fly compared to what im used to..
just dont boot the feck outa it in 2nd to go faster not worth the risk mate

what risk is there in booting it in 2nd gear? As long as you dont exceed the redline, you'll be fine. :-) If you dont take it to the max - the 1.0 can be a very very boring drive!

it will never end. Ive admitted it with my 1.0 corsa, thinking about either getting something quicker or lobbing in some nos. lol

If you have anything below 1.4 your always going to want to make it quicker, if you cant afford to get an engine change, you may as well do all the cosmetic stuff first, then do engine later...

me too mate, I get out accelerated by old Micra's, vans, Metro's etc. Apparantly the Vauxhall 1.28v is the lowest bhp of its time, and I can believe that!!

Yeh, even the 1.0 has more bhp as standard, but not as much low down torque.
