So we've had the ML a year now and that's as long as I ever wish to own any car, the misses was eyeing up an L200 'Raging Bull' that the bro-in-law has got for sale, but he warned us off describing them as 'junk'... Now I know the D4D engines were to be avoided in the past but what are they like now? Also is the auto-box worth a wank on these as it would have to be a double-cab auto.

Views & opinions please.

Fucking hate L200's, you get pikey knobs driving them with big wheels on etc thinking they are Hulk Hogan, Gays imo

I think all big 4x4s (non standard) are bent, i love overtaking them in my little sports coupe and seeing them angry as they can't keep up to give me any aggro about the fact i've steamed past them giving it the VR6 thunder roar

You do realise most German SUV's will piss all over your Corrado in a straight line and around corners

Of course they won't I think people forget what a petrol NA engine is like, people getting carried away with their tdi acceleration sprints from 1000rpm to 2500rpm, mistaking the turbo feel for them going fast.

Wasn't the Corrado around 9 seconds to 60? In which case most Merc ML's will be quicker and a lot of other SUV's too.

Not sure about Dave's statement about handling though

Boss at work had an L200 Animal. The most uncomfortable thing ever with the worst turning circle.

Don't forget they were a commercial, agricultural work horse vehicle design for moving stuff rather than comfort, economy and going to Sainsburys.

Assuming that's a VR6? Either way, it still stands that there are faster SUV's than your Corrado.

90% of people only buy them so they can pretend they're superior and try and bully smaller cars. Get it all the time when i'm in my Z4 daily driver.

Wasn't mentioned in the original reply so it has little bearing on this discussion Nic. I was merely pointing out that 3CM was incorrect in assuming that SUV's aren't quicker than his Carrado (arguably there are SUV's that are quicker than most supercars, ie - Model X).
