Anyone have an induction hob and know where I can buy a set of pots and pans to match it?? There's theres a set on eBay for £90 which is really cheap but I have a suspicion they might fall to bits after a few months.

Some say ikea pans will work, anyone confirm this??

My parents have one. Their old pans worked fine with it.

They must have had magnetic bases. Tried mine with a magnet but no joy.

Any ferrous metal will heat up, needs to be magnetic but doesn't need to act like a magnet, the magnetic field is in the hob.

Copper is no good, nor is aluminium but steel is fine.

The expensive ones are probably a combination of something ferrous on the base the some other materials in the rest of the pan. But it doesn't need to be that fancy to work.

IKEA pans work - I've got a set of the IKEA 365 ones which I'd recommend as they're a good quality set and didn't cost too much.
