So I have a very typical defender with the original barrel locks that you need to open with a key, I want to change to remote central locking. I know it can be done, just wondering how huge of a job is it?

Pow and I fitted central locking to my corsa ~ 9 years ago and it took us an afternoon with one of those universal kits. Wasn't too hard.

On a defender I imagine it'll be nice and easy - lots of access in the doors. I'm sure we got the kit from Maplin! Fit the non remote one, then when the alarm is fitted you can use the alarm fob to activate the central locking.
