Listed a battery volt gauge on eBay other week ,listed it as used condition(eBays definition of used is that item might have signs of wear ), and a buy it now at £80 +£4 postage (gauge cost me £172 ), and someone clicked buy it now within 20 mins, packaged it up properly and sent it fully insured at a extra cost to me £7ish , few days later he messages me saying he had received it and was not happy as I didn't tell him about the scratch in the dial face (was no scratch before I sent it ) so I asked for pictures as I will contact parcel company , he sent me some crap pics that you can hardly make out the scratch and even he said he was struggling to pick it up with the camera , I then offered him his £80 back if he returned it to me and that I would not be giving a part refund , no reply for a few days till he had left me negative feedback (first one I've had ) , now 2 days later he has Msged me asking if I will be paying for postage to sent it back to me as its my fault as I didn't tell him about the scratch (this is after he has been in contact with the gauge company about getting a new face on it and then telling him it's going to cost x amount ),

Now if he had not of been a cock about it and left me bad feedback I would of done but now he has left feedback I dont want to , can he open a case and try claim money back after he has left feedback or can I kindly tell him where to go ,cheers

Pretty sure he can still open a dispute and get his money back. It's ebay buyer guarantee.

I never sell on ebay anymore for this exact reason. Too many wankers on there wanting brand new stuff for 10% of the RRP.

Think he may well still be able to send it back to you for a refund but if he's planning to skimp on the postage because you don't pay (that you don't have to) then you may well find he'll do it normal untracked at which time you can claim it didn't arrive.

Retail price not important nor is the fact you underpriced the postage and paid more, you chose the price and that's what he's paid.

Best hope is it comes back untracked or not at all. I've had returns opened but the stuff doesn't arrive and although the money disappears it'll come back when the case gets closed because I don't acknowledge its safe receipt at this end.

Recently got stung myself, sold a pair of trainers I bought in the late 90's and never wore, a month after posting them I get a message and a picture telling me they fell apart after an hour of wearing them.

In the end had to give a 50% refund, it was that or let PayPal step in and refund the whole amount, piss take.

I know, I only stuck them on there as they could be classed as vintage and I thought I would try my luck rather than chuck them out, not something I would buy but people collect all sorts of shit

I despise selling on eBay as there are some right twats on there that ruin it for everyone.

Problem is that things sell so well on there, I boycotted it for ages but it's impossible to ignore the audience that it has so now I've just had to put up with a twat every now and again.

I had a nightmare last year with eBay, sold an Audi steering wheel and the guy decided he no longer wanted it a week later. I said fair enough, il refund u when I get the item back so he sent eBay a tracking number, they refunded him automatically and I received fuck all basically. The parcel company said he actually got them to scan the item then took it back instantly when they picked it up, all of which he denied. If this isn't bad enough, 6 months later he contacted eBay, said he was lying before about sending it back to me and admitted he'd scammed me but the controls on the wheel had broken and wanted a refund so eBay then withheld the money from me AGAIN.. fucking joke

some right weirdo's on ebay.

I just got a full refund after sending that damaged front wing back.

The seller wanted to deal with it outside ebay and said he'd refund me when he received it back. Yeah right dodgy cunt.

Its not dodgy, he'll lose seller rating because of the defect which he didn't cause.

And lower seller rating means his parts are listed lower in results. Well worth avoiding getting any bad marks particularly if you're selling common stuff with lots of competition.

He should've packaged it better then. He caused the problem in my eyes by wrapping it inadequately.

I'd also like to point out that when I first emailed him about the problem, he was replying almost instantly. When I then opened a dispute on ebay (as you're meant to), he responded a day after I was meant to get ebay involved, which was 9 days later.

Basically he was being a cunt for the sake of being a cunt.

You want to see of mine, packed like a pillow with sheets of foam rubber I've stolen from bins outside a shoe factory, you'd have thought they'd tolerate being lashed round the parcel depot but they somehow still manage to fuck them.
