Hmm, interesting! This is certainly hotting up nicely, u sould start a poll on wether PVD should put up or shut up! My mate did his 2.0 conv contrary to the advice offered by pvd who were more interested in selling him shit he didnt need than helping him perform the conversion. He's also done his own disk rear axle too, so it's not always the companies who know best, their game is ultimately to shift units & make money!

Surely it would just be interesting to see how the power figures compare?
Bollocks, the only fair test is the same engine with both parts.
There's no need to get stroppy with me Pete, all I was saying is that surely there wont be THAT much difference between the two engines.
Surely as owner of PVD you would be interested to see which would comeout trumps, there's nothing to stop you then selling the powercap or inlet pipe. Either way you win and you have both options to cater for all customers as opposed to just those that have the money to afford the powercap.

i can see PVD are trying to sell stuff as that what they are there for, and the kit are not made by PVD, so really its nothing to do with PVD.
as really we could go down the road of i can fit a 2lt 16v with PVD parts for this much money and take me X amount of time, and then me coming along and say i can do it for less and alot quicker. As the PVD kit (M-Tech) make the job alot harder and takes alot longer.....
this is about making the job easyer and whats best to buy, for the customer

Standard will be much, much quicker in real world driving conditions then...

My point is that they were trying to sell him parts for the conversion he knew he didn't need and said he wouldn't be able to do it w/o them! Obviously there out to make money as the song goes "Love don't pay the rent!" I agree with Scott though, it makes it look like they're afraid their product is gonna come out looking bad but there is a potential to market both. Looking at the figures there will prob be more power with the cap than the pipe as it's a standard part, but some people will prefer more top end. Like you said about the conversion, each to their own!

for once daimo has spoken some sence i fitted a 2.0 in my m8 corsa and used a pvd kit
1. it took 3 months to get it
2. was over priced
3. the hubs a poorly machined and one of his sheered after 1500miles so he made his own
4. the power cap was a right pain in the arse to fitbecause or all the cutting plus it toutches the bonnet slightly
but if u do want an mtech kit got to there web site and get 1 from there ther about £100 cheeper But pete says u cant do this as they wont sell u one but guess what peeps mtech were quite happy to sell me 1
