Does anyone remember the Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack being sold on Tescos online shop? It was up for sale for £1. So i immediately purchased it, it came to £2.66 incl P&P. I was sent this e-mail from them this morning:
"Thank you for your e-mail.
I am sorry that we were unable to fulfill your recent order for
Matrix
Reloaded Soundtrack and this item was cancelled.
This was due to a pricing error that has now been rectified.
You may now
re-order this product from us at your discretion.
This product is now correctly priced at £9:99.
Once again, I am sorry for any disappointment caused.
Kind regards
Silas Bath
Customer Service Manager"
Are they allowed to do this?? Surely if they put the product up for sale at a price, they MUST sell it on at that price???

No, I don't think they can actually.
I bought one as well. If it was in the supermarktet at that price surely they'd have to put it through for a quid

thats true in shops but not sure about web- im also pretty sure both shops and websites reserve the right to refuse to sell to you at any-time- however, i would of thought that if they are still willing to let you purchase item then it should be at originally marked price- this is certainly true in the shops i have worked in anyway-
dont know about net?

on the internet - they usually have small print to get out of any sale if they want to - read the sites terms and conditions

unless they have actually charged you for the item and recieved payment from you, then there is no legal obligation for them to fullfill your order

Online shopping is different though, if an order goes through and you actually give all purchasing details to them and then they cancel the order due to a fuck up at their end they are in the wrong, they HAVE ot sell it to you at the price stated. Unless it says somewhere on their site that the prices could be wrong and you could end up being asked to pay more for anything you buy from them.

I replied to them again saying why their policy is different from their online store, and one of their local stores. I checked my bank account, and the transaction has not been processed. Oh well

Terms and conditions on site will enable them to do this..it happens all the time...a while back I seen a site with industrial office printers which should of been around the £1000 mark for sale for £10...Needless to say ordered 100 of the little beauties...didnt have a clue where they woul go..but..got an email back stating the mistake and that I can re-order my order band the total would come to £100,000..they offered free delivery though!!! lol I kindly declined!
