Cant get through to any insurance companies cos of bank holiday weekend now, but need to make a decision on a car.
Its a 1.6 GSI corsa, im 17, and i will be getting insured on my mums insurance as 2nd driver.
Anyone else done this? If so who with? And at what cost?
Just dont wanna buy the car, then be told sorry, we wont insure you at that age on that car.
P.S - DONT WANT ANYONE WITH THEIR COMMENTS SUCH AS "A 1.6 GSI AS FIRST CAR?!?! LMFAO"
Just help will do, ta

You wont get cover mate.
Look at it from insurance companies point of view... a lady phones up wanting to insure her gsi with mods etc... then she wants to add her 17 year old son who has just passed his driving test onto the policy.
They are not stupid mate
oh, and who told you, you cannot get through any insurance companies over the weekend and bank holiday?

Yes but not on a regular basis as this is fraud of the insurance company. Also the car will be registered in your mothers name.
Why are you so intent on getting a group 11 car as your first motor. Why not pay your own way on something slower like the rest of us with legit policies?

Dunno, just want that power there if i ever need it suppose. dont want to be spending thosuands doing up a 1.2 car, and then sell it for less than i initially paid because its too slow for me, drather get a 1.6 that will give me decent speed for next 3 years, and do it up.

Not saying it isnt mate, just love all these young inexperienced drivers just passing their tests buying relatively quick cars going on mommys insurance. There is a reason for high premiums you know
