If my car covers 1/8 of a mile in 9.8 seconds and I'm doing a speed of 73/74mph what would you say my 0-60mph time is approx obviously?
7. something?

U cant calculate it, ur car may acclerate VERY fast to 60 then trundle to 73 or it may go slowly to 60 and fly to 73...those equations wont work because of this!

Exactly... acceleration isn't constant.

you also have breaks in the acceleration for gearchanges

I think my 0-60mph will be pretty fast cos my 3rd gear is rubbish!
My second gear takes me to around 62mph but from then on there is a big lag in acceleration. Hence why I think my 0-60 would be between 6.9 - 7.2 secs

62 on the clock Pat is most likely 58-59 in real terms
