anybody know how to retrieve documents after they have been deleted from the recycle bin
im in a real mess here as ive just lost all my college work
plz help!!!

You will need data recovery software... Should be straight forward, depending on how much you deleted (You fool, Backup in future!) you could use this -> http://download.com.com/3000-2248-10187731.html
It will recover 1MB of data for you... then you must buy the full version

this virtual lab program is well hard to use
whats the default directory for temp files?
theres nothing in C:/windows/temp

using the virtual labs thing, where will the folder b?
its location before was C:/documents and settings/ben/my documents/college work
but looking on that prog that directory no longer exists

you are screwed mate!
Get someone else to look at it, pay them
If you continue to write to the hard disk you will eventually overwrite whats there (Your deleted files)
Using any application could do it!

i called an IT expert about 5pm and he said he was doubtful but was researching how it can be saved. i think im bolluxed tho. stupid piece of crap

When files get deleted they are still there, the part of teh hard drive that they are on is just marked for overwriting.
So as long as you don't go sticking any big files on your computer they will probably still be there.
If you are using the FAT or FAT32 filesystem (win98 winME) then it's easy, get hold of a prog called undelete from norton and run it from a dos boot disk.

are u using XP? go start>programs>acvesories>system tools> system restore
follow the prompts, should be able to restore your computer to the hour before you deleted them or how ever u managed to delete your stuff. if it dont work this way i dont know? good luck anyhow

after putting in an ethernet card thismornin my comp crashes every bloody time. atm i can only run in safe mode and wenever i go to do the system restore it tells me there is less than 200 MBs available even tho there is over 5GB on the C: alone so its doin my tits in right now

then run scandisk for ME or CHKDSK for XP.
