You have very little power anyway, most things on the road would thrash you, sorry to say. So I would go for looks and I.C.E that would easily make up for the lack of power.

It's not about the size of the wheel the matters it's the diameter of both wheel and tyre together. i.e
My mate had 15" wheels with 55 profile tyres and they were only very slightly smaller diameter than my other mates 17" wheels with 40 profile tyres. So if you keep the profile of 17"s small you will be fine and it will look mint.

Ive got 17's on mine, not the fastest of cars to start with so you might as well slap some on. To be honest, i could hardly tell the difference

i think you'll find a 17" wheel is a hell of a lot heavier than a 15" wheel, and the car needs a lot more power to turn a 17" wheel
personally as its a 1.0l i would just get 17's and make it look nice

On my 1.2 i only really felt a loss of power at the top end. I've 17/40/205 ond i don't think it affected acceleration much.

i have 17's on mine..... putting the 13" back on cause
1) the car wont go over 80mph
2) the time it took to get there was over 4 miles
3) they scrub a bit
4) im selling the car and aint selling the 17"
get 15's and drop it 60!

Follow Corsa1zeros advice, I had 17s on my 12ver for all of 3 days before i got pissed off with the even less acceleration, it was really bad on pulling out of junctions which were on slopes. Hence I sold them and went back to the 13s now saving for a faster car

i went for 15" with a 40mm drop, i haven't lost any power as far as i know and i can take bends fast now. But then again my engine is bigger aswell. A 1 litre is always going to be slow so you might aswell just put some 17" on and slam it. That way you can take bends quicker

looks like theres mixed views here...get em or not?
Will my top speed top out at 80mph for sure...? ive topped it on 13's at 103mph so far...
Will aceleration become GREATLY reduced?
any1 got any 0-6 times on 17's in a 1.0?
Also will a good exhaust system and drilled air box compensate for the loss of acceleration? I already have a drilled box, and that improved it a bit.
Ultimately i wanna get a 16valver...but that looks like its 3-4 yrs down the line if i still have the car.
Shawboy...thos 17's on urs right? The look nice...what are they?

i've got 17's on my 1.2 16v and i hardly notice the difference, was slow to start off with and is slow now, u don't buy the car to go fast in do you really! Just make it look nice, thats my plan. will wait until a bit older and a bit richer then i'll get a car that does go fast, for now it gets me where i wanna go and thats all that matters IMO

The only powwer loss i feel is from 4th to 5th on slow inclines besides that it does me!
I am awaiting a 2.0 ltr transplant its the only way to get a real power gain out of these cars.
u2u me for any help!
I used to have 15z lowered 60 but was too much of a nasty ride but held ok now just on 40mm wid 17z!

I can still get more than 80 out of mine on 17's, not a lot more, but it will go faster than 80
