1.4 16v sport owners....has anyone done some quarter mile runs with the car as STANDARD? what were u gettin?

theres a spec sheet on there. it lists the 0-100mph time but not the 1/4 mile time. If your any good at maths you can use the formula:
Speed=Distance
Time

That formula won't do anything for working out a 1/4 mile time!
Standard 1.4 16v Sport you looking at around 18.4 - 18.8 seconds over a 1/4 mile.

yep acceleration needs to be constant for that equation to work

I really wanted to find a Sport to race against when I was at Santa pod the other day, My best time in my Sxi was 19.2 and that was with it running v.poorly.

Santa Pod is ace my mates Rover 220 2.0 Turbo ran a 1/4 mile in 15 and my opther mates 1.0 Diahatsu Charade Turbo ran 1/4 mile in 13.9 secs my car is a cruise car and doesnt race lol

Gambit - acceleration has to be 0 for that equation to work!!
If acceleration is a known constant, you could use s = ut + 1/2at^2
