The dipstick on my 1.2 16v has a bit of white plastic with two rings cut into it.
I assume this is the high and low part of the oil level?
My level is higher than the whole plastic thing... just about at the top of it.
If i open the oil filler cap i can see a couple of the cams underneath and was a little concerned to see they were quite dry of oil when the engine was cold....
Am i worrying about nothing?

the dipstick should have 2 lines etched into it at the bottom with MIN and MAX written on it, above the MAX line is when uv got way to much oil in, if u have to much oil in ur engine (like my dickhead mate did in his fiesta) ur fuck it right up

u should be able to see the cams. u would know if the oil was low cos it would sound rough, the temp would rise quite high.
