To contradict something is, for example, to say one thing, then do the complete opposite.

Contradict..
to state the opposite of what someone else has said, or (of one fact or statement) to be so different from another fact or statement that one of them must be wrong

My misses says.... I contradict her all the time when she says something wrong and i correct her... she thinks thats contradict...
But i think it means = example if a guy sells his car "This car is good on petrol. 2Mins later he says it can only do 10 miles to £10 worth of petrol"
