wen i start the car my engine ticks and sometimes when its warm. i think its the tappets and it also seems to be running a bit ruff.
wot can it be. plz peeps

chek ur oil level.
cud b cam belt tensioners if its a conctant ticking sound that gets faster as u rev.

oil level is fine. canbelt was done at 60 comething and now its got nearly 92k on the clock

sounds like its ur cambelt. is had to be replaced every 30k ive been told. ur tensioners r probably making this sound. they are plastic and not very strong. vauxhalls stupid design. this happnd to mine
cost £200 to fix.

The cam belt wouldn't cause it to run rough.
If it only does it at certain temps then it certaintly isn't.
You want to change your cam belt soon anyway.
Is the noise coming from under the rocker cover?
When was the oil last changed?

sonny u need to change ur cambelt asap needs to be done every £30 K miles on 16v engines.
Wheres the tapping comming from? Is there any noise commin from your water pump?
Also check timing as....If the timing is out it can starve the tappets of oil and make a nasty noise.
jst a few ideas a logn shot but worth a mention

Wrong.
The water pump is attached to the timing belt. I wouldn't make a tapping noise.
For the third time, where is the noise coming from?
