I've pretty much sorted out my ICE.
But i have no idea where to mount the crossovers?
I'd prefer to hide the crossovers, but don't mind showing em if need be.
If you have mounted your crossovers onto the doorcards, could you please tell me where exactly they are mounted, or show pics if possible.
Thanks.

what are kick panels mate?
i'm assuming they are apart from the door?
i've already drilled the multiplug to fit 2x12g speaker cables thru, already routed thru the door.
thats why i need to have the crossovers in the doors.

yep i thought that was it,
but its apart from the door, so will be a bigger pain if i were to mount em there.

not really, just have to feed cable through into rubber boot in the door + cut hole for cable to come out b4 going into the actual door.

oh yea, did u use ring terminals to connect the speaker cable (input) to the crossovers?
or did u just wrapped the bare wire around the screws?

You can allways mount them behind the doorcards where the arm rest is... all you have to do is remove some of the polystiryne?? (can't spell) and mount it on the door... you only have to feed one wire throught to the door... having the crossover mounted in the kick panels leaves you open to interferance from the electronics in the kick panels...

No prob's mate... save you a shed load of time too... make sure you put some sort of foam backing on as well this will stop any vibration between the corssover and door..

I've done exactly that too!
Whats the verdict on Ring adaptors thouugh? I've just bought some 2.5mm cable and don't know if I'm gonna bale to bend it round under the screw clamp!

u mean ring terminals?
My speaker cable is 12guage, so thats 3.3m - 4mm or thereabouts (mine's 3.3mm).
Just get some ring terminals from maplins.
Look closely at the metal ring, it should say
'2-4' (mm) thats what you want as ur speaker cable is 2.5mm.
i find that the outer ring area is larger on the blue rings than on the red rings.
for me the red rings fit, but the blues dont
I'll post a pic of the red ones fitting snug.

Thanks very much for that!
I'm off to halford tomorrow - I bought some spade connectors that the guy in the shop showed me after he gave me my wire, and they don't fit over the wire - its to thick!
Do the ring terminals crimp onto the wire or do you solder it?
I have the same crossovers as you, so I'll be loking for the red ones too - hope ripspeed come up trumps, but just in case I'm taking a wire sample with me too!
Just out of interest Inta, have you totally rewired your fronts from the headunit? If so how did you get round the multiplug in the doors?

if u hide em in the kickpanels ur gonna have 'more' wires (woofer + tweets) going thru the door multiplugs!
Whereas having them inside the doors where u'll only need to send 1 pair of wire (input) thru the door mutliplugs.
The ring terminals i've got are crimpable(?).
Well i'm gonna pop into halfords and maplins tmrw to get some more connectors.
About my layout, what i've done is had a pair of RCA's signal cables going from the headunit to the amplifier (boot). Then had the speaker cables running from the amp to the doors.
2x3.3mm cables thru the mutliplugs
If you have central locking + ewindows you might have a problem as there's gonna be loads of pins. U'd have a very tight space to drill thru or no space at all!
I've only got central locking and i was able to drill 2x 4mm (maybe 5mm) holes close together.
I should have taken pics when i did this.
u'd have to drill both parts of the plug.
Threading the wires are a headache.
Do the passenger's side first as the driver's side is 100x harder
I've wrote quite a bit lol.
Good luck in findin the right stuff tmrw, and i'll keep u posted on my progress
