i would deffo get sharp, sounds loads better, so either of them.
got mates with sony and they havent got that quality sound to them.

you maybe right, but "in my honest opinion" i have a very old sharp personal MD player, and a sony seperates one, they are both good in there own way. but i have listened to my sisters and my mates sony one's and they are too tinny for me, the 3 sharp ones i have listened to have a much nicer sound to them.
Maybe its just the headphones you get with them.
