just a few simple q's:

1. Will a drilled airbox pass MOT checks?

2. does a filter change make a good difference?

3. cna u ever drill too many holes that performance is decreased?

1: Yes..wouldnt really alter emission

2: Yes, unless the filter is clogged up, or you changing from OE to performance

3 no...more air the better.

2: Yes it does, with a performance type
3:Yes you can, but literally cutting the whole bottom of the box off so there is no pressure.

on my corsa sxi i think air comes in at the bottom from a pipe to the radiator then up the filter onto the top where it feeds to the engine..im asking ......do u just drill the underneath? cos it looks stupid when u lift the bonnet anf find holes in the sides? is it very loud? do they perform better than k&n...im thinking of the PVD panel filter..is it anygood?

is it me or is the board now inundated with drilled airbox questions

u'd think it was major surgery your carrying out on your car, ffs its only a plastic box u can pick up at a scrappy for £15!

There are more than one type of airbox though gambit. And there are still unanswered questions in the Tutorials section.

I have drilled aobut 8- 10 holes about 20mm dia, i got the PVD Filter, very good sound i noticed the power increase! a little more torque 2! go for PVD Panel Filter

where did u drill therm..? just the bottom of the air box?

if you look towards the car with the bonnet up, i drilled mine behing the drivers side light! i drilled about 4 on the bottom 2 at the front and 2 on the side i fink!

yes if u drill the holes in the wrong place, ie engine side then it will decrease performance, but if u put em in the right place it will increase it.
