so a 1.2 is poss.....but not worth the money as my mate who own the car above pay about 3-4k for it and my 2lt would rape him all the time.
never went from the lights BUT even my 1.6 beat him top end

why don't you just drop a 1.8 engine in from the Corsa C SRI?
it has more power than a 1.2 turbo would have and it must have some tuning potential.
you'd probab;y have to change ur insurance to elsewhere though.

The thing which I can understand here is that if chris drops a 1.8 or 2.0 in his insurance will be 100% invalid since he'll be insured on a 1.2 and its now a 2.0
if he did something like S/C or Turbo his 1.2 his insurance would still probably be invalid, but at the end of the day on the papers it'd say insured for 1.2 and thats what he would have...
Ok if he has a prang he'd be screwed, but with police checking if you have insurance I reckon you might get away with it.
I just raced a 1.6 Gsi back home from Ace cafe... and it did pull away but not that fast. I kept catching him through twisty bits tho since his suspension was standard.
I reckon a 110 bhp 1.2 would be (unreliable yes) pretty nippy.
if you did head work, cams, chip etc as well and got 120+ bhp it'd be pretty sweet.
The thing which is the best is when you pull up at the lights after the race and the person next to you goes 'what engine's that' and you say a 1.2 they'll be shocked!
However - like patrick said, Don't do it! I bet if you did do it you'd probably end up spending so much money that you wish you had just dropped a 2.0 in
I was tempted to ask mantzel whether they wanted to use my car as a project car for that S/C and thus give me a big discount - but it'd probably wreck my engine.
When you think about it though, S/C'ing a 1.2 is probably the best power / cost way of getting it fast in the short term.
35+ bhp from £1000
When compared to shit like
3 bhp for £300 ECU
4 bhp for £300 cams
4 bhp for £££ mainfold
etc...

What kind of computer is running the turbo? Is it a complete new computer or modified original?

PMSL @ this thread
yesh i remember the days when i was hot headed and thought i could tune my 1.2 16v oh dear oh dear
every time u have a daft idea like this just pop some money in a savings account and the time will come when u are able to buy something that was meant to be fast...........i.e. not a corsa
