I can't believe you can't get over 100 mph in a 1.4 16v 3cm? the official stats for the 1.4 show it being able to do more!
My car gets to like 90mph then really crawls to 100mph then really really crawls any higher... I only get about 107ish on the flat ... get speed going down hill (4 people in car) then try to carry the speed back up the hill.
Beardy I don't see why you constantly mock Sxi owners about their indicated speed? its not the Sxi owners that make crazy claims, and when they do say they've seen say 117 on the clocks they admit its inacurate and probably only 106 and downhill.
Its the 1.2 8v guys that make me laugh, as they will claim they've done 120+ and hide the fact they were going down a vertical slope.

I had my 1.4 up to 126mph @ 6500rpm  Worked out that was 115mph, so 120rpm more would have been the gb limit @117mph  That was on the 15"s, the old 1.4 was a good healty lump when i first got it.
Got the 16"s, n it went more like this
As for the new engine WEll 6500rpm shows 130, and it pulls hgher rpm than that AStra GTE does 135mph, and the Corsa is smaller n lighter.

Thats is as far as the 140mph Corsa speedo goes.
The rev counter goes round to 8k+ though

Here's my 1.2 8v....
Its a 93 model so had the f10wr which is why it tops out at such low revs comparared to later 1.2 8v's, sports etc.
However, it does mean that i can hold bout 70/80 (45-50mpg) on the motorway, and get alot better mpg than ANY sports/GSi's etc....as these would be at a much higher rev.
