my amp pushes out 300w rms @ 4ohms just wondering what options i have? JL? The bloke in halfords said a dual voice coil sub would be better cos i can run it with two 150w RMS @2ohms is he speaking bolox? I know my amp can do this but a sub with 2 inputs?

A single JL Audio W3 D4 would run well with that, or 2 W0's, many many many subs out there now though!!!!!

But i wouldn't buy anything without seriously checking out JL Stuff i love my JL's!!!!!
