Hey Lads, just wondered if anyone knew the answers to few questions....
1-I am thinking of buying a compressor and gun, what sorta spec am i going to need from the compressor? i.e.
what HP motor,
what Ltr receiver.
what cfm displacement,
what bar max pressure,
what V/Hz supply.
2. how many liters does it take to spray your whole car, and is rage the best place to get ma paint?
3. do you need some sort of electromagnet setting up so you get the paint even ?
4.what's weather like near you.....its pissin it down here!!!

you dont need a hugely powerful comp for spraying. plus you can get lp guns. look on draper.co.uk and machinemart.co.uk get some ideas

I am just learning myself and have come to the conclusion it is quite hard.
The technique is not difficult it is getting the Fan width and spray rate correct. Cos otherwise it goes very shit looking very quick.
I think it depends on what kind of paint you use but I think you could do a whole Corsa with 1.5 litres of 2-Pac paint.
I have borrowed a 25 litre capacity,1.5Hp Compressor. I bought the lowest power gun from Machinemart for about 40 bucks.
Hope that helps

i have ten litres on mine mate for good reason though. i would use no less than three litres depending on colour if you not priming whole car.
as for your gun no offence but i wouldnt apply primer with it. you really need something good to even start thinking about painting a car or anypart of it just as a guide. my gun was 350 trade price

dont rent one, what happens if you have a bump or some1 scratches it? then you'd have to hire again. if you get the stuff now then you can practise on an old wing or something from a scrappys. plus if you have the stuff you wont rush the job due to time limit.

surely by the time you have bought/hired this stuff you can get a bodyshop to do it - the whole point of spraying something is to replicate the factory finish and not look out of place and your never going to achieve that without proper equipment and knowlage
