I might soon be selling my engine and putting in a 2.0L 16v
I just want to see if anyone is interested and what price i could get for it.
This is the full spec,as it would be sold and i have recepts for the work done over £1400 spent on engine alone;
Bottom end rebuild including rebore,new 0.5mm oversize pocketed pistons.
Crank regrind and balanced,new 0.25mm oversize main and big end bearings.Flywheel matched and balanced,
Stage 2 ported & polished head with 6 stage valve seat cut,skimmed and new valve guides & valve stem oil seals.
New cambelt with new pulleys and tensioners,new alternator belt tensioner
New oil and water pumps
All new gaskets and oil seals
Splitfire triple platinum plugs, magnecore H.T. leads

personally not worth more than £500 with loom and box
prolly looking at 120bhp 120lb/ft max with the above spec if its healthy

The mileage doesnt matter because everything is new. It had done 63k before rebuild.
I havent had it tested but i think it is about 120BHP possibly a bit more.

Gary, put this on www.racecar.co.uk or www.rallyusedparts.co.uk and mig. With it being fully rebuilt it would make a good base for a race engine or for throttle bodies.

Bollocks cos a standard 1.6 16v goes for aroud the 450-500 mark so one with this spec maybe 600-700 easy
thats why my mate bought one for £300 fully running with loom ecu and box. Wouldnt pay more than £600 for a rebuilt one cos personally id only trust the work ive done myself cos ppl cut corners on rebuilds sometimes
