I havnt got the best of systems at the minute as Im skint but Im running some components straight off the head unit and theres too much bass comming out of the mid drivers and its getting distorted. There pretty good JBL speakers but I think the problem is that there not connected via a crossover. The little tweeter has an inline crossover which looks like a resistor. Is there anyway I can get a similar thing to connect up so that theres not too much bass going to the mids??
Thanks and sorry for the long post

Well if u got a good headunit it should have built in high pass filters. If not you will need to just turn the bass done on the headunit.

what hd unit you got?
it's posible that the signal sent from your hd unit is not very good at high volume which may be why spkrs are distorting.
when you try to do too much with the hd unit the sound often distorts

You can buy 'crossover caps' that will cut the frequency from 80hz down. They are about a tenner and you solder them inline on you woofer wires. Bass blockers are the same thing, autoleads do them in Halfords etc.
