Motorcross requires no skill - you want to get into Trials - I pay £5 per bike per day at 3 of our local tracks ( all within 15 mins) just sold my old trials bike 1994ish Gas Gas 250 fr £450 and it was mint and brilliant for beginners and I'm just waiting to tkae delivery of a new one
trials requires skill and effort and it wears you out - you ache in muscles that you don't know exisy but its an amazing feeling

yes I used to race in the 125 schoolboys series for 3/4 years so yes I "have" competed in a "whole days racing" in fact Ive probably spent more time on a bike than most people here - then I changed over to trials
I'd like to see your average motox rider do half the things that a trials rider can do
just because its "slow" doesnt mean its boring
getting up near vertical walls, over obsticles etc
I got bored of going round and round the same track - its dull and over noisy
and now theres an increasingly worrying tendancy of chavs in the pit - with shitty little KX80s etc - Trials is by far the superior discipline and teaches you far more about control
and I stand by my comment - Motorcross requires little skill especially when compared to trials

how is this dull - anything you can do on a motorX bike can eaisly be done by a trials rider

Id say that motocross requires as much skill as trials
I would also like to highlight ive done both and competed in both
i prefer motocross as the adrenaline rush, jumps etc gets me going
trials is fun for winter keeping fit and practicing but it doesnt give me the rush motox does

ye motocross is just a great buzz i think, i love the sport and it does require alot of skill... but trials is completely different, its all bout balance and throttle/clutch control, Mx is more flat out and is tiring lol, have to be fit for trials and MX but stamina is the main thing for Mx, balanace and strenght is more for trials..
