and they said cars never go to scrap yards with their alloys - they always arrive with steelies
does that mean there's a special alloy scrappy somewhere?

I believe there have been many sightings of neon washer jets and peel off window tints at various scrappies around the country

claire if you want alloys on budget you'll be lucky to find any not kerbed or buckled... 350-400 will get you some 15's on decent tyre's these days though

Like whats aklready been said, try Peugeot boards, and also try pug specialist breakers (The pug equivalent of supernovas/dixons vauxhall/VPSC etc. ).
It varies at different scrappy's but, usually the cars are "decontaminated" where batterys and brake fluid etc are removed. At places like this, the wheels and tyres are also removed, and put into a special storage unit, where they can be sold in sets. If the alloys are any good i.e non standard, then there usually "lost" before the car gets to the scrappy.

if a carsat a scrappy then usually its been damaged asin crashed or its so old its worn out and in those cases the cars would either have damaged alloys (usually) or no alloys on old cars
