You would have to be fooking bonkers to buy a god knows how old escort with a turbo botled on which has been stolen recovered for 3.5k! Offer a grand. It'll be a nightmare when you want to sell it too, they always are!

Sounds like a good deal to me mate. As someone said though, you might have probs selling it on when you want to get rid. All depends what you wanna do with the car, do you wanna keep it or sell it one after a while.

It should be called stolen, ragged, limited, handbraked, left to cool, recovered. Check it very carefully!

My first car was stolen and recovered! Just needed a new lock also, I'd go for it! Just check what calss it is! If it's an X your ok, otherwise when you need the MOT (always worth getting on a Stolen and Recovered even if it don't need it yet) you'll have to go to a DVLA approved centre and it's more expensive.
If it is an X then it may not have been recorded also, which is a bonus, I'd check the HPI on it aswell as it's hard to shift cares that have been stolen and recovered as as Ian said, they've usually been ragged!
