Its too much for normal cars - unlike yours mind you - to the standard corsa though its too much - it will probably cause pinking.

Yeah - as marc says - high performance engines - turbos and imports too coz a lot of imports are tuned to run higher RON fuel.

Yeah but you have to advance the timing by a degree or so though to make the benefit.

normal petrol is about 90, optimax is about 95 and the stuff marc is on about is 100 RON

You can buy 102 octane in drums but i dont know how much it costs

So if optimax is 97 and i put that in my 1.4i then surely this 100 Ron will be alright aswell? or am i wrong??

Pinking, (high pitch explosive sounds) which can be the result of several problems with vehicle systems, is where the fuel and air mixture is ignited at the wrong time, sometimes called pre-ignition. Pinking must be rectified as soon as possible as it is detrimental to the engine, often causing damage to the pistons and other engine components if left unchecked

just checked on Shells website Optimax is 98 octane.
