Im trying to backup my mp3s onto a cd but soem of the files say i cant copy them as they are write protected or sharing violation or something like that. any ideas how i can get around this?

are u using the mp3 while your trying to copy them? such as playin thm in your media player? or wot eva u use

no, ive already tried that. ive restarted windows so nothing is open at all.

what programme you using to copy them onto CD?

just clicking copy and then paste in the cd window, like in windows explorer. most of them will copy fine, just a few. i think it is called adaptec

try taking ownership of the files in the permissions

I used to use adaptec to copy CD's and got a similar message (cant remember what it was exactly) so starting using Nero and was fine!
