My work is through a proxy server and about a year ago I got a friendly advice warning to cut down internet usage......
But now i'm back to normal again popping in and out od cs all night...

Next time they check I will be in the shite...

i got warned about kazaa today, god knos why? i only had a few hundred mp3s.

Should of burnt them onto CD and destroy the evidence (delete)!

yes you should as our company keeps a log of all the time you are connected, they showed one of my mates his then sacked him for it. they know exactly how many hours he was on the net. and yes he worked for the same place as us

thats why i just bring me laptop in to work and plug it i use a free phone number so no phone bills with massive call charges on it lol oh thats wot im doing now lol

yes tom it was, you have to log in and they keep a record of all the sites and what times.

of course they can track the sites u visit and all ur 'dodgy' activities. pretty much all networks do this to an extent.

i got caught out in college, the admin called me out of my class and showed me how he caught me. was well impressed, but got a ban from using the college computers

If you are connecting through a network then you will be tracked, companies are legally requried to know who is doing what on their networks.

Something no one else has mentioned though - are you not guilty for not being productive in work? Does the work not build up?

Its not that.

Your supposed to go to work to work, and if ur spending x hours online, then your not doing work. Even if your workload gets done, your still wasting time and thats how companys see it.

All online activity will get logged, every time you refresh a page, every tiem you read/reply, it will get logged. If someone notices your high internet activity, the company will usually come down hard.

I am supossed to work 37 hours a week and I reckon at least 25 of them hours are spent on CorsaSport....... think I better stop coming on as much and just come on in my lunch hour between 12:30-13:30, dont wanna get the sack or I wont be able to mod my car........ then again I have been surfing for 6months at work now and they havent said anything.......

Really dont know what to do???
