a new project.

Not going for Styling or anything, just raw power, so will first be fitting a 2ltr XE lump...

Some people are trying to say get a 1.6 Sport, but I don't know as the engines gona be ripped out anyways, so have been thinking of getting a cheap & cheerful 1.2 merit.

Any ideas??

^^ Agreed, as you will have better susp. than standard, and the anti-roll bars

thats why am not sure, i could probs get something like that, but finding one like that with no exterior or chassis damage is near impossible round my end, and is why I'm considering a lowly merit

Also should I strip the interior out when I do get a new corsa, and if so, there wouldn't really be a need in electrics n stuff like in a sport/gsi

suspension isn't really an issue, as will be ditched for a set of coilovers & a 60mm drop

Get and Sri then. Can get them from K plate onwards (so can gte one for cheap). Have a fuel pump big enough to use with the 2.0, have the roll bars, better vented brakes (although you'll want to change them anyway), and a decent interior (seats have the raised bolsters for better support), but dont have any electrics or p/s, so there lightweight .

brakes will be changed hehe

the plan I got is...

Buy a new corsa (but which model?)
strip out the engine & fit the 2ltr
suspension
wheels
brakes (rear discs & front either ATE or V6 calipers & discs)
then get it MOT'd & back on road

then I hit problems of whether to strip interior out or not!

So thats why I'm wondering what model corsa I should get to start with & do all this too - cos when I buy the car I aint going to drive it, I'm going to start working on it straight away!

if ur going for power then strip the inside and fit some buckets upfront

go for a 1.2 merit or somethin poney like that, and either buy gsi anti-role bars from a scrappie or buy uprated ones

I'd go for a 1.4 SRi. Comes with most things u need, brakes/suspension/engine are gonna be changed anyway, and there as cheap as chips now. PLus, the earlier u go for, more likly to have a cable speedo and not an electric one, plus will ahve the rev counter etc etc.

Early SRi

Yes, I am looking into this also. But I don't want an old dog. I don't one with a rotting chassis.

Looks like I'll be after a cheap SRi then! Shouldn't be too hard to find (hopefully), so will start lookin in the local papers as soon as I get a few more wage packets in!
