My Astra is a 1.4 8v spi and is mega slow...i really want to get the engine changed over the winter when the bodywork, Install etc is done but im undecided!
To be honest i'd love a 2.0l but im just not sure if I could afford it...i.e. Insurance as im 19, petrol as the car will get used everyday, maintenence etc.
I was wondering if there were any good alternatives i.e. 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v....maybe these could be slightly modded!
What do u think?

A 1.6 16v fitted with a Throttle body kit only from SBD will give you 164bhp.
and i'm sure that'll be easier for you to insure than a 2.0 16v seeing as your 19yo.
