Ordered astra the other day with team dynamics alloys on (they bought them in specially!  ). Smart Car ad says i need 205/xx/xx, but vaux says i need 215/xx/xx. whats the difference between the two, and if so, is it a major 1? i have absolutly no idea what the difference is!  can any1 help?! cheers!

its the width of the tyre in mm. 215 section tyre will give you better grip in dry but aquaplaning risk increases with width.

7x17 would be 205/40
7.5" wide would be 215
