Been looking into Civics, really got my eye on a 1.5 LSi, nice one for sale pretty close to me, already kitted up, just needs some more stuff adding to finish it off.

But what do you guys think of them, also do you know what I should look out for with these cars when going to buy??

Cheers,
Sean.

Sohc civics are nothing special.. I have one lol. Save for the VTI, you will not regret it. Ask Gibbs, he's had both.

Yeah I would love to go for a VTi but seen as I am only 18 I cant afford to insure such a thing.

I want something with a bit more power than my 1.2 8v and something that you dont see as often as Corsa's.

Which models come with VTec then, thats what I am looking forward to most.

If you ask Icy i think he has some pictures of Stevie Ho's Civic it will give you an idea on just how a Civic can be modified! and i believe it's a 1.6 VTi ! It was at Max power last year and was the flip painted civic you got in the poster pull out

Civics are reliable and supposedly have more gadgets than the corsas but Civics aint much fun

Get some quotes first. The insurance on a VTi for me is about 500 more than an LSi... which is what... the price of some manky wheels.

1.6 EG ESi is fairly nippy. Avoid EK if you are looking for speed with a non vti.

Yeah, thats why I was thinking of the 1.5i LS, pick them up for reasonable money, get some phat rims on and all that. And the 1.5 is definatly quicker than my 1.2 8v shite.

With the EK you have 4 different engines..

1.4i - 90hp non vtec
1.5i LS - 115hp vtec (vtec-e I think... not performance... 55+mpg at 70mph is good though).
1.6i ES - 130hp vtec... auto only grrrr unless you go for a coupe.
1.6 VTi 160hp twin cam B16a.

So unless you can get insurance on a VTI then a 1.5 it is.. coupes are pretty rare. OK it's not overly slow, but if you think vtec means fast then you'd be mistaken with a 1.5. 0-60 is like 10.5. Gearing is pretty long.

For £6000.... £4000 on an EK VTi, and spend the rest on insurance. Sorted.

Dont wanna be blowing loads of dollar on insurance though.

What are the 1.5i LS like to tune?? Can you get more power out of them easily?? I am with Liverpool Victoria so can do any mods I want.

I know Vtec doesn't mean fast, but I was going on the thought of the Vtec being a stronger engine and also having a better capability for modding the engine.
