count urselfs lucky all u scots!!! I got mates up there who live in cities up there and think they are hard done by payin 80k for a 2bedroom flat........
Down here, for a decent 2 bedroom flat, u'd be looking £160k upwards.
The cheapest 3 bedroom semi's down here are goin for around 350k.
Our terraced 3 bedroom house in NW London, originally cost £22k in 1983. Its now valued at just over £205k, and still rising loads. Main reason being, its 5 mins walk from a tube stn, loadsa bus stops near by etc. meaning u can get ANYWHERE in london in bout 45 mins, and to any mainline stn in under 30.
Anyway, the price hike is Gonna set my 'rents up nicely for their retirement, when they wud move right out into the country and buy a house for pennies. Which, in turn is good news for me and my bro, coz the extra money has to go some where when they move on
Its all good, and its the same scenario for most of my mates. one mate of mine, his dad bought a 5 bedroom almost mansion type thing for £400k (pretty run down). Its in the same area as me, bit nicer in fact, over looking a massive private lake. He's a builder by trade, and obviously did the house right up. It now, not only looks stunning, but has 7 bedrooms (loft conversion), gravel drive etc, leccy gates...........but is valued at just under £2million. Its mental. Oh, and he rents out the lake to fisher men and he makes mega £££££££ coz its fully stocked with real good fish.
Anyway, just goes to show how lucky u ppl actually are, moaning bout 60k
Matt
