its a 1951 Standard rear split, even in that condition (which after being stored for 27 years like that is immaculate!!!) its worth a bob or two!

Its worth about £3000 as it was when he pulled it out the garage - fully restored he's looking at £10,000.

I've got a piccy of my mates old beetle he's still building up. Only taken him 4 years so far BUt then he has bought a house too.
Used the original 1300cc engine, and built it into a 2.0 Twin 48 carb beast. Hopefully it'll be running about 140bhp when its done.

Gambit - That number plate is the guys private plate - not the original one for the beetle..
Daimo - Get the pic up then! There was a beetle in VolksWorld the other day that was running 260BHP - had a porsche engine in and even that was modified. It was quick but solid as a rock at the same time - really nice looking motor too with hardly any non-period mods to it

Im suprised the motor he had pulled that lot to be fair - nice box of goodies for spares though - id have them all stripped down and rebuilt either ready to go in another motor or as a spare one for the one he found!
