of course Cole. The power band ends below 6kRPM though Daimo, and you are not gaining anything on a standard engine by revving the nuts off it. Much better to change at about 5000-5500 rpm

You have the advantage of keeping it a lower gear. You'd need to work out thrust figures or whatever they're called to see when it was best to change gear. More than likely there is an advantage to holding a lower gear longer. They have the graphs in some bike magazines if you don't know what I'm on about.

a cars topspeed is dependant on power, the gear ratios and weight amounst other things etc etc.
my car's (standard) topspeed is 124mph but that is not at the rev limit in 5th gear. I now have a limit of 7200 which if I had the power the car would do 163mph on the limiter. if the car has been modified a lot and has huge increase in power then it would be possible to hit the limiter in top gear ( I did this in my sporting) so yes in situation a raised limiter would increase the top speed. however most cars never get to that stage of tunning.

You should change gear at peak power rpm (or slightly over), not at peak torque. Although you may have more engine torque slightly lower down the rev range, don't forget that gearing at high revs can convert a slightly lower engine torque figure into more torque at the wheels. This is most effective at around peak bhp rpm. The same is true of reaching top speed (assuming your rev limiter is set high enough so it won't cut in in top gear) You really need to look at a power/torque curve to decide the best place to change gear for max acceleration

Same as. Wity my current engine i change at 6500rpm. It pulls all the way up from about 3k, but i can hear and feel the engine struggling after 6500rpm so change.
Another reason as to why i want to get my car on the rollers.

Noo, we were saying about 130mph @ 6500rpm on a standard F15 box.
I've got an F20. Much better box than my F13 was.

Fads just done that too.
Im not too arsed tbh. My cars as quick as it is, and at the mo, i've no intention to make it any faster (yet). Wanna make it look pretty and shiny before that.
Plus all engine mods are always bloody expensive I've got coilovers to save for first
