i put my active black head unit in (old style) now it wont let me do anything and keeps flashing CODE IN.

any suggestions

if it is the model that i am thinking about, you need to type in a 4 digit code to activate the head-unit. i think it is some sort of security devise used by sony coz you cant take the front pannel of like you can on the model above yours.

i've got a remote tho but no numbers on it

yeah take it to your local ICE specialist and they can decode it, if not contact the guy you got it off and ask him, it might be in the user manual???

Apparently you cant decode them thats the whole point with them not being a clip off. My mates got one and the only way you can activate it is by typing in the code using the remote control.

I'd pay a visit to the kid that sold you it and find out what the code is if I were you

i had a sony active black stereo which was coded, apparently there is 16 code combinations for them. took mine to pro audio in rochdale,took him 20 mins to uncode mine. have the number if needed.
