Only my 2nd day, so kinda still training, but my team (about 8 of us)doubled their targets in 3 hours 2nite. So, bonuses all round, bottles of beer n reef also getting dished out

i work in a call centre 2 m8.. were u work.. if we hit are target we get £100
if we hit group target we get a further £150
|

Excell Contact Centres.
Ma team basically call folk and try n get em to understand that they are paying far too much on their mortgages....... we then make an appointment for a company/agent to visit them and discuss it.
And our target just now is........ wait for it..... 1 an hour

i have to call people to get them to come to have there eyes tested at the derby branch... so i got to make 32 ppl turn up in a week.. if i do that i get £100..and get to leave early.. ontop of 12.5K per year.

Av just started part-time (5pm-9pm), cos am at uni......... but am going to try n get in as many hours out of it as i can.
Good money for the job!

just outta interest, how do u get the list of numbers and names? how are they obtained?
Is there a breach of the Data Protection Act?
When i get telecanvases calling me up, i stay on the line for ages, sound as if i'm interested, give the impression i'm gonna give in to the offer. after about 15 or so minutes i'll say 'yes' then say something silly like 'oopz i think u've got the wrong number' and hang up.
it pissed them off as they thought they were on a dead cert.
but its a living i guess.

We buy in the data from the company that we are acting on behalf of. Fuk knows where they get it from though
And its all computerized, just click a button and the next call gets under way............ problem with our system is that the screen shows call waiting whilst its ringing waiting on someone answering......... and as soon as they answer it and say hello... all the data is brought up on the screen.... so we're kinda saying "hello" (whilst at the same time reading to see who we are saying hello to)
Regarding fukn em about.....
If folk just hang up, we click the hang-up button on screen which gets there details out the system........ however, if i think that there was a chance of the party being interested, we click another button and there details are saved to be brought up and foned later.............. so best bet is that you'll get another call from them at some time

And regarding at as being a living........... there is a real chance of good careers in the business.
Sumfn like 90% of our staff, started off working on the phones/computers as such, then because there doing so good, they get rewarded or at least given the opportunity to step up to train new starts or become managers/team leaders etc..... and earn more major bucks

They get their numbers from larger companies that hand the details down to third parties. Happens when you send back bills, order shit off the net or register ect!

I fucking hate call centre jobs! Used to do tech support on and off for a few years, the job and bonuses may look appealing from the start, but after a while, you will want to commit suicide!
