Loved mine but the wife hated it

Everything is a bit of a pain to get hold of, cam belt is different to the normal Zetec, clutch and flywheel is expensive and they do fail.

Bit thirsty too as they love revs, gearing is quite long as well, they're not 'nippy' like you'd think but you can change that with bits from a Mini Cooper S.

I'd have another.

One I am looking at has recently had a clutch and cam belt. It has a 6 speed box so thought it might be ok for a slow ride to work and not be too juicy. When you say it's not "nippy"'is it really slow. Baring in mind I will be getting out of an 8v mk3 golf gti

Cooper S used the same gearbox but with different ratios, if you really didn't get on with the focus' gearing, you can swap them over and it makes it quicker in each gear.

It's not slow it just feels like you're in 4th when you're in 3rd sometimes if that makes sense.

You can get them for peanuts these days.

Robin is that the gearbox from the facelift R53? Because the early cooper S had long gears as well

ST170 does as well.

I had a list of all the ratios, all 3 sets are different in certain gears.

Eat fuel and insurance is extortionate for a 170bhp car

Mate of mine breaks these day in day out so any issues he can usually sort parts for.
From people i've known insurance hasn't been a problem.
You done quotes on one?

My insurance was cheap, they're not expensive to insure unless you're 12.

Harder at what? I find it odd, that's all.

I understand not having to change up before 62mph will make the 0-62 book figure quicker, but these are normal hatchbacks, not performance vehicles.
