Inner arches, inside of the boot, chassis legs, under the ECU ( left hand side of engine bay as you look at it)

Rear axles, greb the rear wheels and see if you can feel any movement, even better if you can jack it up to feel any movement.

Gear boxes are pretty soft, can hear a whine usually, and a ticking sort of noise that goes when the clutch is pressed.

Also if its lowered any more than 40/50 mm they like to eat driveshafts.

Every saxo I've had has ended up making clunking noises when turning the wheel so look out for that. Otherwise, I only ever had a fuel pump go on one. I like them. Obvious answer is me saying go for a VTS instead.

Rear axles don't go for fun unless you lower them!

Eck my old Vtr was bog standard and the axle still went on it.

Suppose lowering them would just make it happen quicker.

Although isn't theyr 2 methods to doing them??1 of which will more than likely cause it to go.

Reiterate the axle comment. Not only is it common, it's difficult to find parts to do it on the cheap.

You can use a drum brake axle , did it on a mates vts and another mates vtr with no problems , think its maybe a tad narrower tho iirc , alot cheaper to buy a drum brake axle

torsion bar trailing arm systems contain needle roller bearings which break/rust when the water seals fail

Also the pins that the trailing arms sit on wear down.

I done what you have done, got a drum axle and switched everything over.Paid 30quid from the scrappies and it took me about 1hr to switch everything over.

Then sold on my fuked axle for 30quid to I.M Axles over on Saxp. They refurb them and sell them for about 280quid.

My gearbox was fine and the car had 99k on it.

I think its like any car really.Check over everything like normal.

But also check the rear axle.
