I never thought i would have to make one of these posts but here we go.
Before i start please no one have a go at me as i feel bad enough already.
Basically i was on a dual carriage way and i cant remember how fast i was going but it was probably at least 100. There were not many cars about and its quite a fast piece of carriage way, im not trying to excuse myself i know that i should not have been doing that speed but weve all been there. Anyhow I saw a mobile speed camera van parked up but it was too late, i definately shot past it at 100ish.
Had a letter come through explaining that due to the circumstances of the offence a conditional offer cannot be made and that a summons will be issued shortly.
I fear i may get banned, which means i could loose my job as i work on multilple sites through the east of england. Anyone know from experience what i can expect to happen? Anyone been to court for a driving offence whats it like?
pls dont flame me, i know i was in the wrong yaddee yah but can you all say you dont occasionaly go 100 on a dual carriage way/motorway?
Thanks.

im fcuking well paranoid, if i loose my job it will start a cascade of disasters
I really cant remember how fast it was, what if it was over 100? i was more busy concentrating on cars in slow lane pulling in front then glued to the speedo.

Get your Boss to right a letter to be presented at the court, saying that it will effect your job, the company if you loose licence (This has been known to help)

Just found this,
For travelling between 21 and 30 mph faster than a 20-30 mph speed limit, or between 26 and 35 mph faster than a 40-50 mph speed limit, or between 31 and 40 mph faster than a 60-70 mph speed limit, the guidelines suggest that the magistrates endorse with 6 penalty points or consider disqualification for between 14 and 56 days.

Arange with your manager two weeks holiday, then take the points and make a plee sayin you cant afford a fine and that the loss of earnings will probably be suffice as to cover a fine, you leave with 6 points and two weeks holiday.......you never know it might work.....doubt it

make sure they have a calibration certificate for the set up of the speed camera.
i was informed that often they dont bother getting one because its too much hassle, therefore they try to pull a fast one over you.

I agree with this, last i heard if they havnt got a certificate to say the camera had been calibrated within a certain time they cannot have you, you might be lucky.
You must have been over 100 for them to take it to court mate
