dont know really much about this so can someone recomend me a basic but decent sub and amp cost isnt too important but i dont want top or the range or bottom something in the middle will be enough.

also might be geting these 6*9--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your after 6x9's, get the infinity ones from halfords that are half price. £50 instead of £100. model is 960.3i. Item code: 697425-0

If ya just after a decent but basic sub n amp package ya best going to ya local ice dealer n seeing what deals he will do ya. A mate of mine talked his girlfriend in2 getting some ice, got a Rockford 10" HE sub, carpeted box and about 350-400rms 2 channel amp for around £200. What kinda music do u listen 2? Could determin if ya want a 10" or 12" sub

2 x JL W3V2 D2 12" subs. They retail at £200 each. They are dual voice coil aswell. good subs for the money! And you can get a box for under £100. amp wise try this:

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2023&osCsid=1adbb93a4b2eed2688b05e5c779348db

The whole lot would set you back about £800 not including fitting the stuff.

Also if you are getting a sub or subs It would be better to not bother getting 6x9's and just spend more on a decent set of components.

unless he wants to be running at 1ohm he needs the dual 4ohm voicecoils doesnt he? If he has the dual 2ohm voicecoils wont he b running at 1ohm. Sure the Rockford would cope with 1ohm but not officailly 1ohm stable r they

not 100% sure bout that. Aye he would prob be better getting the dual 4 ohm. They have both dual 2 ohm & dual 4 ohm models anyway. There are so many other amps that could go with they subs, phoenix gold etc. Best bet would be to ask when ordering.

Why not try 'Drivers' or 'MF2K' corsa-lad? They are based in Glasgow and would give you really good advice.

you want 10's for dance & 12's for the R'n'B. 12's could handle both but the 10's would struggle with R'n'B compared to 12's from my experience.

halfords r doing this deal-
xplod 12" sub
box
wiring kit
amp
for £169 i think but i would up grade the amp to jbl gto 20000(or 6000 dunno the number)
which would be an extra 50 £200 ish in total
also get the infinity 6*9 for £50
so all in £250

so would this be a good package or is the xplode 1200w 12" amp shite?

would i bother upgrading the front speakers aswell?? what size r the corsa fronts anyway.

avoid sony at all costs mate. You would be better off getting a package from a mail order company than halfords.

I have a JBL 12" Power Series Sub which sounds superb (400rms). Costs around £150 and I'm running off a Kenwood 7201 AMP rated at 1x460rms @ 4ohms which costs around £120. With the cost of a box and wiring it would all cost around £370.

my arse gave out more bass than my old sony xplod sub, stay away from all things sony make for cars, its all rubbish, there is a lot better stuff out there for the same and even less money. i would say alpine all the way, i got an mrdm300 and 10" type r for about £220 minus box and wiring, really good it is too, very puncy but can also go low.

yeah, dont touch sony! Alpine are only good for headunits and the odd amp or two. They aint up there with their speakers!

What is your rough budget for a system corsa_lad??

You got a corsa B or C? You are gonny need autoleads adaptors for the speaker pods to enable you to run 6" & 6.5" components.

yer thats not a bad budget set up but wudnt hav the sony sub. Just pay a bit extra n get ya self a JL W0, Alpine Type R or Rockford HE (Old skool, not sure what the new ones r called).

If ya listening to Dance def a 10inch sub. A 12 annoys me on dance tracks. It is true that a 12 wil sound better on rnb but its your car after all.

how about: infinity ref 505cs doors, infinity 960.3i 6x9's &
Vibe 12" 'Black Air' sub. Power the doors and the sub via a Vibe VP4 amp and run the 6x9's from the headunit. I havent tried any Vibe stuff, but I hear its good value for money if your on a budget.

thats a 'free air' sub. That means that you put it into your parcel shelf and it doesnt use a box. not recommended.

Now thats a good deal!

Or get this:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/product_info.php+cPath+60_98_171+products_id+1320

And sell the sub to a mate and buy the infinty Kappa!

yeah the Infinty one is better than JBL. I would recommend that you go to halfords or Drivers and have a wee play about on the display stand before you commit yourself to buying anything. At the end of the day its your car and your money. Its totally upto you.
