doubt it has one, if it does it's done purely for sounds and will slow the car down if anything

dump valves have the reputation for the sound of it, most people couldnt even tell ya how a dump valve works, high performance turbos build up a lot of pressure, dv's release that pressure , turbo diesel's dont really produce much turbo air pressure for it to need a dv

Diesels produce just a much boost as a petrol it's the fact that there is no throttle that they don't need or can have a dv

Makes no noticeable difference in speed. Tried 0-60 + accel. runs both with, and without it on, and contrary to what many people think (me included), it did nothing to times (altho i obviously dont have sophisticated equipment), the car felt NO different.
The D8A (pug 1.9td) engine spins up boost quickly anyway, and after speakin to many TD heads on PSOOC and PGAC, and hearing nasty stories bout turbo stall etc on cars tuned to over 1.2psi without a DV, the fact it may prolong turbo life is a bonus.
Heres the crunch.....
I LOVE THE SOUND.
I musta heard it hundreds of times now, and i still love it . I cant deny that, but i wudnt want to anyway, its one of the main reasons i got the DV. Its a pretty damn loud "pah-tisssscchhh" when i get to high boosts, or a gentle "whoooosh" the rest of the time. It gets attention, but i'm smiling when i hear it, even drivin in the middle of no where. AND YES, THAT IS SAD

PS: Adam-D - mines not chipped mate, like the 1.5 TD izusu engine in the corsa, it uses a mechanical fuel injection pump, and tuning is undertaken manually on the pump itself.

There is no set product for the Izusu engine, but it wud much cheaper than that

I like the sound of a DV but not one that is really loud. i prefer the sound of a wastegate though, propper rally slag stylee!!

as long as it wont slow it down any
i want one yes im sad but id get lots of mpg and a ptshhhhhhhh when giving it some

yep - they can have a d/v, its just forced operation.
There is no need for an atmos D/V on a petrol turbo either.

gotta be loud on a diesel so u can hear it over the sound of the tractor engine!
My DV has a rotating cap, which also soften noise (not intenionally), its designed to allow customisation of pressure release levels.

i dont think i've EVER seen or heard a d/v on a corsa diesel. In fact, i've not even seen adverts for em, or kits for sale on the net.
however, it would work in exactly the same way as mine, and basing my views on this, i severly doubt you would notice any performance difference. But just rmemeber, if u were to go up the 1/4 or race at the lights etc, u have a switch inside, which simply turns the solenoid off (ie: turning d/v off).
The ptscchhh depends totally on the type of D/V u go for......some of the cheaper ones sound absolutely dismal (bailey for one).
However, one thing u can be sure of, is excellent mpg woteva the situation

PS: Sorry Ad - i'm afraid fittings a bit harder than that. It involves T-piece-ing off of the brake vacuum hose, piping this into valve solenoid, running a +ve to this solenoid. Putin a micro-switch on the accelerator arm, on the injector pump, and then finally u can plumb the DV in.

yes it would slow you down as it dumps all the boost so the turbo has too spool up again.
get an induction kit, the 1.5 td's love them, my bros did esspecially, we couldnt believe the difference it made, just from changing a filter, and considering it had a drilled airbox on before makes it even better.
also, changing the exhaust for a bigger bore helps alot too.
then do the fuelling and boost tweek
mines going on the rollers on saturday so ill report back as to what its pushing out

as for prolonging turbo life, it wont make any difference atall.
