Recall: 6 of 6
Recall Ref: R1995/012
Exact Model:
Description: A) POSSIBLE STATIC SPARKING DURING REFUELLING B) AIR BAG SYSTEM MAY NOT DEPLOY
VIN: VARIOUS
Build Date: August 1991 to February 1995
Numbers: 601131
Defect: A) During refuelling the flow of fuel can cause static electricity to build up in the tank filler neck with the possibility of static sparking. B) On some vehicles an electrical connector plug in the air bag system may not be correctly positioned. Should this be the case, one or both air bags might not deploy in the event of a collision.
Action: A) The fitting of a metal earthing clamp to the lower end of the metal ring for the fuel filler cap to ensure a conductive connection between the filler neck and the vehicle body. B) Checking that in potentially affected vehicles the subject electrical connection is correctly positioned.
Launch Date: 24 March 1995

This is a well worthwhile number. I called it and it turns out my seat rails need reinforceing. Even though my car is 9 years old, they are still gonna fix it for free! Does any one know the peogeut or ford recall numbers?
