Lookin into possible bonnet vent, but having a pretty standardish lookin motor, i'm lookin for summat real subtle.

I thought of cool louvres, but understand u gotta post bonnet to them etc?

Just wondered if anyone knew of any more vents that act as a "scoop", but isnt stupidy tall like some i've seen.

Matt

PS: why? coz i'll be uprating my intercooler after xmas, and top mounted coolers are unefficient as std, let alone uprated ones.

Altho anyone got pics of the brand new scooby one? or any other new flatter ones?

hmm its also an option, but there is very little space behind the bumper that has a cold supply of air, and most of that is filled by the huge TD rad I dont wanna go cuttin out the front bumper coz the idea is to stay subtle.

I know ppl who have done this conversion, but they keep their old i/c and run them in parallel.

its also a more costly choice, and the guy whos supply my uprated cooler said its not worth goin for a front mount, unless i wanna start gettin big with the power increase etc. The one he's gonna supply will allow me to boost up to a level that will give 135bhp (and i'm not thinkin of goin any more than this).

Altho - i suppose if i cud get a cheaper small i/c and pipe it all in myself, it wudnt be so bad :s hmmm lol

Get a smaller ic and mount it behind the bumper if you can, and as you say run it in parralel with the original

The thing is, if you are after keeping it subtle you will struggle to find a subtle 500mm wide vent

hmmm front mount might be nice actually, i'll have to investigate this evening with positioning etc.

Also - is heat not just gonna build up, and boost greately reduced if the air has gotta run through meters of pipe?

What about the eccose 'bulge' desgned sepcifically for the 306

goes right across the bonnet but may not draw that much air in

Not a problem on most modified cars so can't see why it would be on a 306 td

I'm not a fan of that bulge :s

Erm, 500mm wud be alrite, as long as it sits pretty low (ie: not poking right up from the bonnet)
