oooo ooooo oooo.... this one sounds schweeeetttt

Adam,

The car was imported by Iain Litchfield (of Impreza
Spec C fame) in February of this year. It turned out
it had a loose earth and burnt a piston (had low
compression on number 6). I bought it and after some
deliberation, Abbey Motorsport installed the running
gear from my previous R32 into it (at great expense!).
Because they were so busy, it was only finished in
August this year and the car was registered for the
first time in the UK then - I'm the only registered
keeper. It's taxed and MOT'd until August 2004.

The engine has done about 7,500 miles since a full
rebuild which included all new bearings, 87mm pistons,
1.2mm metal head gasket, head rebuild etc. so it
obviously runs like new with good oil pressure and so
on.

The turbos are about 750 miles old and have a ball
bearing core and steel turbine and compressor wheels
to Abbey's spec, built by Turbo Dynamics. It has an
Abbey 1.2 bar EEPROM/ECU and a bigger uprated
intercooler (haven't found a maker's stamp on it),
iridium plugs, A'pexi Power Intake twin cone induction
kit, Trust MX front pipes (big - 2x70mm into 80mm),
Abbey de-cat pipe and a stainless Nismo cat-back
exhaust. The car was set up on Abbey's DynaPack.

The clutch is an AP Racing single plate which is about
1500 miles old, and has never done any drag starts
etc.

Abbey also fitted new front upper control arms and
bushings, a new cam belt, new Ferodo brake pads and
changed all the fluids when they fitted the engine,
clutch and gearbox. It has Bridgestone S-02 PPs all
round with plenty of life left.

The body is stock but for the N1 bumper vents and
tinted rear windows. Inside it has a Carrozzeria
(Pioneer) 12 disc CD changer, radio cassette and
digital signal processor, HKS turbo timer, Nismo dials
and a NaVan gear knob. The seat bolsters haven't worn
through like most and the air vents are all there and
intact - the air con works but could do with
recharging. It has a Clifford Concept 300 Cat 1 alarm
and immobiliser.

On the downside, there is a small burn on the driver's
seat and the clear coat on the front of the bonnet is
starting to look a bit flat - I think a machine polish
would bring it back.

Abbey spent a long time making sure it was running
correctly and gave the car the all-clear after a full
check over whilst they had it to make sure it wasn't
hiding anything - no one else has worked on it in the
UK. From what Iain Litchfield said I don't think it
was an auction car.

It drives very well, feels tight and has little lag
(in fact it's a pleasure after getting out of my other
one which has 2835s and the clutch from hell), no
rattles, no rust etc.

I'm looking for around £10,500 on the basis of Abbey's
advice.

Let me know if you want to know anything else.

Best regards,

Phil
