Only some ECUs you can reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour.

so, if you put an induction kit on, or change ur airflow by drilling ya box, do you need to change anything? ie ecu, or tick over fuel idle thingys etc?

NO DAMMIT This is a 1.2 or 1.0 or whatever, you dont need to "try" to reset anything.

People go on about "oh i reset my ecu" Reset to what exactly? HAs someone programmed in a new setup? You can't change the standard ecu setting aprat fromt with the right equipment. Its not going to add any more air/fuel mixture in to compenstate for aftermarket mods.

And im presuming the people that have kept telling you this are fairly young still and also own under 1.4 engines.

Put simple, you can't reset your ECU.

depends on the ECU. depends if it adapts to a driving style. disconecting the battery with reset the factory settings. if the ECU is not attaptive then it will make no difference

I feel performance modding of cars which were not produced with performance in mind is a waste of money. Save your money till you can afford a decent performance car...
