Just had abit of a play with a Nova GSI, were side by side at traffic lights i was in lane to go straight on he was in lane to go right, i wasnt quite sure which way he was going to go for it so when he did he obviously got in front but he didnt fly away from me as i thought he would when i seen that it was a GSI, got up to about 70mph and he was just starting to pull away abit more!
Whats the 0-60 on one as i dont think i did to bad for a 1.4 16v chucking out a mighty 91.5bhp with 16s and a far weight of ICE, he was only on 14/15s aswell

He wont fly away from you as the GSI/GTE engine only puts 100bhp, has a bit of low down grunt but loses out to the 16v in the higher rev range. Should be evenly matched i would have thought.
I had both a GTE and GSI, would run neck and neck with a VTR but loose to a VTS, anyone who says they've done otherwise is talkin shite

no gsi/gte nova will allways allwys beat a 1.4 corsa, a) it has more power and b) it weighs less

It did beat me im not denying that but if we had got same start then it would have been alot closer than i thought, cuz NovaGTE(guy on hear) had a nova gte(funnily enough) that was rolling roaded before he had it at 118bhp so i was just wondering

I remember him, Matt Miller wasnt it?
He had a Zorst and filter so somehow i think they were Max Power figures RR or not. I had mine RR'd with the same mods and made 3 bhp over standard

Yes, but was your filter/exhaust tuned into your car or were they just stuck on?
A fact many forget...

Nova GSi would beat a 1.4 16v Sport easy.

Gte/Gsi are well quick for Novas, should beat a Corsa 1.4 16v - unless the engine is shagged, common on Novas

I used to own a nova gsi that had a mint, it was rolling roaded at 108bhp.
That was quick but not as quick as my old corsa gsi.
I've got a new shape corsa 1.4 sri now and i'd say my old gsi would kill it 0-60.

Mine was a good engine, it's still going strong, one of my mates has got it now. The gsi's were a lot more fun than my new car.

With regards to 1.6 16v Corsasports and 8v Saxo VTR's. There's not much in it at the lower revs but once you get up the range a bit the Corsa pulls away.
I imagine the VTS statement is true as it's faster.

I reckon the Nova engines will out live the weak 16V Corsa engines, cambelt snap and bye bye engine....
Cambelt snapped on my Nova Gsi....put a new belt on and it was sound
My Corsa Gsi is quicker though
