is this where you have to find the value of t and n B4 you can do the sum of x and then figure out who but why when- and then when you think youve got somewhere- you realise youve confused yourself and have to start all over again

What course are you doing mate???
x(t) is the real time analogue signal, x[n] is the sampled signal that has been discretised, to make it into digital form.
x(n) = exp(0.2n) is this where n = 0,1,2,3,4,5,6...etc? this is your input signal i reckon, then you will have a difference equation, something like:
y(n) = b(0)x(n) + b(1)x(n-1)
I only graduated last july and i've forgot most of DSP already
I probably have my notes somewhere...........If ya need a hand give us a shout, i might be able to confuse you a bit more
